Vampire the Masquerade, VTT, D&D, AI ART, ART, TTRPGs

Anyone who has played their fair share of TTRPGs knows that finding the right VTT to play your game night on, can be a bit hit-and-miss. Even more so for niche TTRPG games like Vampire the Masquerade. Whether it be struggling with big box prices, or just finding a VTT that feels right, the hunt for the right VTT can be pretty tough.

Though, it seems that one developer is taking on this issue in attempts to bring the VtM community just a little closer.

Meet FoxQuest.Online, the VTT and Social Media platform that is focusing on making tools more convenient for players and DMs alike. And while many people may frown upon the idea of having AI Art generators in a VTT, We think it is an amazing idea, here’s why.

Traditionally, D&D has been a cash cow that has pillaged its own very small community. With every book costing an arm and a leg, and finding miniatures that best fit your character being more of a “which blocky dude do I choose this time?” D&D has come out of its former days of costing players $500+ to enjoy the full experience. Today D&D is relatively free to players, with the price point only costing the DM instead of everyone at your table. The entry price curve has drastically shifted over the last 20 years.

The issue comes from people who believe all art should be left for Artists. And while I believe Artists should have a place and an industry, you have bumped your head if you believe that every player should spend $50-$100 on character art that looks like your 12-year-old sister drew it. What’s worse is believing that your DM should commission every single NPC, Monster, or BBEG. And this is just from a cost associated perspective. Let’s not get into the fact that 90% of the individuals who complain about AI stealing work away from Artists, don’t even comprehend what Art is. No, this is the generation that sat in Art class and argued with their High School Teacher with exclamations of “Luffy x Jynx Hentai is indeed Art!” Explain to them what the Stone Age is and they merely believe it to be “the time when cavemen walked.” But they do know what the Gothic Era is. How could we ever forget the time TikTok shutdown for 12 hours after all. AI has a place in D&D home games. Its silly to even argue that when it saves people time and a ton of money. And I hate to break it to the youngsters who disagree, but just drawing a fabulous depiction of an apple pie doesn’t make it art… No matter how good the pie looks.

But FoxQuest.Online is more than just an AI Art generator powered by the latest DALL-E 3 Google Gemini, FoxQuest aims to be something bigger in the space of affordable VTTs. The site boasts a functioning forum and instant messaging, and above all else, has taken Child Safety into account, something most Social Media sites could care less about today.
